INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice announced today that defenseman Anthony Bitetto was named to the All-USHL Second Team by a voting from League coaches.
The Island Park, NY native and alternate captain played in 58 games for Indiana and finished fourth in the USHL in scoring among defensemen with 40 points (11G, 29A) to go along with a (+11) plus/minus and a team-leading 99 penalty minutes. He led all league d-men in game-winning goals (5) and was second in shooting percentage (.136). The member of the 2009 Clark Cup Champion Ice squad will return back east in the fall to play his collegiate hockey at Northeastern.
The All-USHL First Team included goaltender Steve Summerhays (Green Bay), defensemen David Makowski (Green Bay) and Bryce Aneloski (Green Bay) and forwards Matt White (Omaha), Jaden Schwartz (Tri-City) and Anders Lee (Green Bay). The rest of the All-USHL Second Team consisted of goaltender Jeff Teglia (Omaha), defenseman C.J. Ludwig (Omaha) and forwards J.T. Brown (Waterloo), Brock Montpetit (Waterloo) and Erik Haula (Omaha).
The Indiana Ice is home Friday night to battle the Green Bay Gamblers in game three of the East Division Finals presented by Ivy Tech Community College. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:05 pm at Pepsi Coliseum. Game four is Saturday night from Pepsi Coliseum with the puck set to drop at 7:05 pm. The series is currently tied at one win apiece.
