INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Ice forward Sean Kuraly was selected to the 2010 USA Hockey U-18 Select Team and will compete with 20 other players in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the 2010 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. The Tournament will be played from August 9-14, in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia.
Kuraly, an Ohio native is a new addition to the Ice team this season, as he skated for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets last season. With the Blue Jackets, he played in 45 games and recorded 73 points on 29 goals and 44 assists. His play earned him a midseason call-up to the Ice where he notched three points (G, 2A) in five games last year with Indy.
For the fourth year in a row, an Ice member has been selected to play in the Ivan Hlinka tournament. Kuraly follows new teammate Brian Ferlin (2009) and former Ice players Shane Berschbach (2008) and John Carlson (2007) as former Select Team participants.
The Indiana Ice is a member of the United States Hockey League, America’s only Tier One league.
